A small asteroid called 2012 KP24 will buzz our planet on May 28, 2012. The asteroid will come very close to Earth, and we mean very close! Closer than some of our geosynchronous satellites at roughly 18,000 miles.

However, 2012 KP24 will not hit Earth, so hold onto those doomsday scenarios. The asteroid will be at its closest at approximately 11AM EST / 8AM PST on May 28.
