If today was your last day alive, what legacy would you want to leave behind? Facebook creator Mark Zuckerberg could be pondering that. He has come up with a new way to use Facebook not just to show off vacation pics and where you had lunch, but to save lives.

The social networking site added a spot where you can register as an organ donor and then tell your friends, encouraging them to join you.

“Simply by putting in and telling your story that you are willing to participate in this,” Zuckerberg told ABC News, “we think a lot of people who might be on the fence about whether or not they want to do this could be convinced.”

“Across the country, there are more than 114,000 people waiting for a life-saving transplant,” said Laura Frnka-Davis with LifeGift Organ Donations.
