According to Piper Jaffray’s 23rd semiannual survey, 34 percent of teens in the U.S. own an iPhone and 40 percent of those who don’t, plan to buy one in the next six months. When I was younger, kids were lucky to have a clamshell device. this just goes to show how quickly the industry has grown over the past several years.
The survey polled 5,600 American teenagers and discovered that Apple’s handset is growing in popularity among the younger demographic. 23 percent of teenagers owned the device in fall 2011 but that figure has grown to 34 percent for present day. AllThingsD said that interest from the teen demographic is a critical component of long-term growth, which is great news for Apple.
